At Aurora Tamariki, we work in partnership with families to create a nurturing environment. Our understanding of child development is inspired by Rudolf Steiner and Emily Pikler, fostering children’s growth through care, respect and natural routines.

Our whare has been purposefully designed to create a home environment that is peaceful, unhurried and caring. We use natural toys and play materials. Our thoughtful programme provides opportunities for children to directly imitate ‘real work’. Meaningful work inspires children to engage in creative, self-directed free play.

Aurora Tamariki provides rich and imaginative learning experiences, through our small quality centre with high adult to child ratios. Our qualified, experienced and caring teachers provide learning through songs, movement, storytelling and child-initiated play. Whanau experience healthy daily and seasonal rhythms, where wholesome and nourishing vegetarian food is provided.
